Data Processing

Corporate Visions collects personal information about its website visitors and customers. With a few exceptions, this information is generally limited to:

  • name
  • job title
  • employer/company name
  • work address
  • work email
  • work phone number
  • survey recordings
  • Internet Protocol Address
  • Internet or Other Similar Network Activity

We use this information to provide prospects and customers with services.

We do not sell personal information to anyone and only share it with third parties who are facilitating the delivery of our services.

From time to time, Corporate Visions receives personal information about individuals from third parties. Typically, information collected from third parties will include further details on your employer or industry. We may also collect your personal data from a third-party website (e.g. LinkedIn) if it is required to deliver our services.

Website

As is true of most other websites, Corporate Visions’ website collects certain information automatically and stores it in log files. The information may include internet protocol (IP) addresses, the region or general location where your computer or device is accessing the internet, browser type, operating system, and other usage information about the use of Corporate Visions’ website, including a history of the pages you view. We use this information to help us design our site to better suit our users’ needs. We may also use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our website, analyze trends, track visitor movements, and gather broad demographic information that assists us in identifying visitor preferences.

Corporate Visions has a legitimate interest in understanding how members, customers and potential customers use its website. This assists Corporate Visions with providing more relevant products and services, with communicating value to our sponsors and corporate members, and with providing appropriate staffing to meet member and customer needs.

Cookies and tracking technologies

We and our service providers use cookies and other tracking mechanisms to track information about your use of our Site or Services. We or our service providers may combine this information with other personal information we collect from you.

  • Cookies. We or our service providers may use cookies to track visitor activity on our Site. A cookie is a text file that a website transfers to your computer’s hard drive for record-keeping purposes. We or our service providers may use cookies to track user activities on our Site, such as the pages visited and time spent on our Site. Most browsers allow users to refuse cookies. The Help portion of the toolbar on most browsers will tell you how to prevent your computer from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether. Visitors to our Site who disable cookies may not be able to browse certain areas of the Site.
  • Clear GIFs, pixel tags, and other technologies. Clear GIFs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, which are embedded invisibly on web pages. We or our service providers may use clear GIFs (also known as web beacons, web bugs or pixel tags), in connection with our Site to track the activities of visitors to our Site, help us manage content, and compile statistics about usage of our Site. We or our service providers may also use clear GIFs in HTML emails to our users, to help us track email response rates, identify when our emails are viewed, and track whether our emails are forwarded.

Third-Party Analytics

We may use third-party analytics companies, such as Google Analytics, to evaluate use of our Site and Services. We or our service providers use these tools to help us understand use of, and to improve, our Site, Services, performance, and user experiences. These entities may use cookies and other tracking technologies, such as web beacons or local storage objects (“LSOs”), to perform their services.

Do Not Track Disclosure

Our Site does not respond to Do Not Track signals. Cookie banner is present for website cookie preferences.

Third-Party Links

Our Site and Services may contain links to third-party websites or applications. Any access to and use of such linked websites or applications is not governed by this Privacy Policy but instead is governed by the privacy policies of those third-party websites or applications. We are not responsible for the information practices of such third parties.

Interest-Based Advertising

We use third parties such as network advertisers to serve advertisements on our Site and on third-party websites or other media (e.g., social networking platforms). This enables us and these third parties to target advertisements to you for products and services in which you might be interested. Third-party ad network providers, advertisers, sponsors and/or traffic measurement services may use cookies, JavaScript, web beacons (including clear GIFs), Flash LSOs and other tracking technologies to measure the effectiveness of their ads and to personalize advertising content to you. These third-party cookies and other technologies are governed by each third party’s specific privacy policy, not this one. We may provide these third-party advertisers with information, including Personal Information, about you. Users in the United States may opt out of many third-party ad networks. For example, you may go to the Digital Advertising Alliance (“DAA”) Consumer Choice Page for information about opting out of interest-based advertising and their choices regarding having information used by DAA companies. You may also go to the Network Advertising Initiative (“NAI”) Consumer Opt-Out Page for information about opting out of interest-based advertising and their choices regarding having information used by NAI members. Opting out from one or more companies listed on the DAA Consumer Choice Page or the NAI Consumer Opt-Out Page will opt you out from those companies’ delivery of interest-based content or ads to you, but it does not mean you will no longer receive any advertising through our Site or on other websites. You may continue to receive advertisements, for example, based on the particular website that you are viewing (i.e., contextually based ads). Also, if your browsers are configured to reject cookies when you opt out on the DAA or NAI websites, your opt out may not be effective. Additional information is available on the DAA’s website at www.aboutads.info or the NAI’s website at www.networkadvertising.org.

Sharing information with third parties

The personal information Corporate Visions collects from you is stored in one or more databases hosted by third parties located in the United States. On occasion, Corporate Visions engages third parties to send information to you, including information about our products, services, and events.

We do not otherwise reveal your personal data to non-Corporate Visions persons or businesses for their independent use except in the following circumstances:

  • you specifically request or authorize it;
  • it’s in connection with Corporate Visions-hosted and Corporate Visions co-sponsored products, services, or events as described above;
  • the information is provided to comply with the law (for example, compelled by law enforcement to comply with a search warrant, subpoena, or court order), enforce an agreement we have with you, or to protect our rights, property or safety, or the rights, property or safety of our employees or others;
  • the information is provided to our agents, vendors or service providers who perform functions on our behalf;
  • to address disputes, claims, or to persons demonstrating legal authority to act on your behalf.

We may also gather aggregated, de-identified (anonymized) data about our services and website visitors and disclose the results of such aggregated (but not personally identifiable) information to our partners, service providers, advertisers, and/or other third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.

The Corporate Visions website connects with third party services such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and others. If you choose to share information from the Corporate Visions website through these services, you should review the privacy policy of that service or social media site. If you are a member of a third-party service or social media site, the aforementioned connections may allow that service to connect your visit to our site to your personal data.

Transferring personal data to the U.S.

Corporate Visions has its headquarters in the United States. Information we collect about you will be processed in the United States. By using Corporate Visions’ services, you acknowledge that your personal information will be processed in the United States. The United States has not sought nor received a finding of “adequacy” from the European Union under Article 45 of the GDPR. Pursuant to Article 46 of the GDPR, Corporate Visions is providing for appropriate safeguards by entering binding, standard data protection clauses, enforceable by data subjects in the EEA and the UK. These clauses have been enhanced based on the guidance of the European Data Protection Board and will be updated when the new draft model clauses are approved.

Depending on the circumstance, Corporate Visions also collects and transfers to the U.S. personal data with consent; to perform a contract with you; or to fulfill a compelling legitimate interest of Corporate Visions in a manner that does not outweigh your rights and freedoms. Corporate Visions endeavors to apply suitable safeguards to protect the privacy and security of your personal data and to use it only consistent with your relationship with Corporate Visions and the practices described in this Privacy Statement. Corporate Visions also enters into data processing agreements and model clauses with its vendors whenever feasible and appropriate. Since it was founded, Corporate Visions has received zero government requests for information.
